Our EvoGro cabinet brings sustainability and fresh flavours to your table

At JGC we love to experiment with food, and that includes embracing cutting edge technology - not just to cook and present but also to help us avoid waste and the transportation of ingredients.

So for a while now we’ve been growing all our own micro-herbs at our HQ in Battersea, or in Garton’s Garden as we call it (because of our address) using an innovative EvoGro cabinet. This uses advanced horticultural LED lighting to create optimal conditions for growth all year round, with perfectly consistent results every time, ensuring every crop is full of flavour.

No herbicides or pesticides are used, we only grow what we need so there is zero waste, and being on-site, there are no food miles involved – a truly innovative and sustainable system which provides us with the herbs and salads in our dishes.

We think the cabinet itself is also a thing of beauty to look at, and the lighting adds another element to the ambience of our tasting room. Better still, when we’re hosting tastings we’ve been able to have chefs cutting and picking herbs in front of guests and adding them as the finishing touch to the dish in front of them - you can’t get any fresher than that, from soil to plate in seconds!
