A Very Special Christmas Lunch and Festive Singalong

The Jimmy Garcia Catering team, together with the Waterloo Community Fridge, were delighted to host a very special Christmas lunch. Alongside the many people we serve through this incredible initiative and members of the Community Fridge team, we came together to enjoy a festive meal and a joyful sing-along.

Ensuring nothing goes to waste in our community
At the start of this year, we began a partnership with the Waterloo Community Fridge, an initiative that supports hundreds of individuals in the area who are facing food poverty. Through this collaboration, we provide all our surplus event food to ensure nothing goes to waste – To date, we have provided over 1,500 meals and counting!

Our team volunteers every Friday to help run their breakfast club. You can read all about and our other brilliant fundraising efforts HERE.

This festive season, we wanted to do a little bit more: to brighten spirits, enjoy music, share stories, and spread the magic of Christmas within our community which is where the idea for the Christmas lunch came from.

Giving Back This Christmas
In addition to hosting the Christmas lunch, we decided to redirect funds typically spent on client gifts to the Waterloo Community Fridge. This donation allows the initiative to continue its invaluable work, ensuring we can focus on creating exceptional food with zero waste. To make the occasion even more meaningful, we invited our clients to join us at the event. This gave them the opportunity to see firsthand the impact of their support and the journey of surplus food from their events to those in need.

"We want to thank our clients—without your business, none of this would be possible. Your continued support allows us to give back to the community in ways that truly make a difference. A big thank you as well to Diane, Dick, and the entire team at the Waterloo Community Fridge for allowing us to be a part of their special work. We had a blast!"

"“Thank you so much to Jimmy and all the team at Jimmy Garcia Catering for hosting our community Christmas party. We had a full house, and it was so good it brought tears to my eyes, which is not normal for me! It’s been wonderful getting to know you all this year. Thank you for all the surplus event food you’ve donated to the community fridge and for the help you give at our Friday community breakfast. I’m really looking forward to working with you in 2025 and making even more of an impact on the families in Lambeth and Southwark who struggle with food poverty.”
